Merewether Fellowship

Grant Description

The Merewether Fellowship provides $12,000 annually to support the research and writing of nineteenth-century New South Wales history using the State Library of NSW’s Mitchell Library collections. It is open to scholars, researchers, and the wider community, including international applicants, with a strong emphasis on promoting the outcomes of the research through publication, presentations, and media engagement. Established through a bequest by Edward John Merewether, the Fellowship honours the legacy of David Scott Mitchell and fosters deep engagement with historical research.
