Grant Description
The Ishibashi Foundation/The Japan Foundation Fellowship for Research on Japanese Art (FY2026) supports overseas curators, researchers, educators, and conservators in conducting short-term research in Japan related to Japanese visual arts, particularly contemporary art. The fellowship promotes international understanding and academic exchange by enabling professionals to study Japanese art firsthand and disseminate their findings abroad. Fellows receive round-trip airfare, a stipend, and other allowances for a 21–59-day residency in Japan, fostering the development of future leaders in Japanese art studies and international cultural exchange.
