Grant Description
The Growing the Peer Workforce grant is a national, open competitive opportunity under the Mental Health Program, providing funding from a total pool of $2,750,000 (GST exclusive) over 4 years to one or more eligible organisations to coordinate and deliver 500 training placements for students undertaking the Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work. The grant aims to expand and professionalise the mental health and suicide prevention peer workforce by improving access to quality supervised placements across diverse service settings and locations, with a strong focus on priority cohorts including First Nations peoples, young people, LGBTIQA+ communities, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, veterans, regional and remote communities, suicide prevention peer workers, and family, carer and kin peer workers.
