Grant Description
This grant provides one-off seed funding of up to $4.345 million over three years to establish a National Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Peer Workforce Association. The purpose is to professionalise, strengthen, and sustain Australia’s peer workforce—comprising consumer, carer, and suicide prevention peer workers—by supporting professional development, national consistency, workplace safety standards, and capacity building. The initiative is designed to reduce stigma, support First Nations and priority populations, and align with national mental health workforce reforms to improve outcomes for all Australians.
