Grant Description
The Cultural Gifts Program encourages philanthropy by offering tax incentives for individuals who donate culturally significant items to Australian public collecting institutions such as museums, libraries, archives, and galleries. The program ensures the preservation of artworks, manuscripts, scientific collections, Indigenous artefacts, and other items of historical or cultural value for the public. Donors receive tax deductions based on the GST-inclusive market value of the donation, with additional benefits including capital gains tax exemption and the option to spread deductions over five years, thereby promoting long-term cultural enrichment across Australia.
