Grant Description

The Copyright Agency First Nations Fellowships provide six Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander writers with a one-week residency at Varuna, The National Writers’ House in Katoomba from 7–14 September 2026. The fellowship supports writers working in any genre and at any career stage, offering dedicated time to write, mentorship from a First Nations mentor, and connection with other First Nations writers in a culturally safe environment. The program aims to nurture literary excellence while supporting the maintenance of culture, language, authentic Indigenous voices, and community storytelling.
