Grant Description
The Community Energy Upgrades Fund Round 2 provides $50 million in total funding for local governments to undertake energy efficiency and electrification upgrades in their facilities, reducing energy bills, emissions, and dependence on fossil fuels. The program aims to decarbonise local government operations while improving energy reliability, affordability, and performance. Grants will be provided as matched funding of up to $2.5 million per project, covering up to 50% of eligible costs, with applicants required to contribute the remaining amount. This initiative supports Australia’s commitment to Net-Zero emissions by 2050 and aligns with the National Energy Performance Strategy (NEPS) to drive widespread adoption of sustainable energy solutions.
