Grant Description

The Australian Lending Right Schemes (Public Lending Right and Educational Lending Right) compensate Australian book creators—authors, illustrators, editors, translators, compilers—and publishers for income lost due to the free use of their books in public and educational libraries. Supporting over 18,100 payments totalling $26.6 million in 2023-24, these programs encourage the growth of Australian writing and culture. Ebook and audiobook claims are now included.
