Grant Description
The WIRES National Grants Program has been established by Australia’s largest wildlife rescue charity to support one-off projects of 6–12 months that deliver tangible, long-term benefits for native wildlife and their habitats. With a total pool of $1,000,000, the programme seeks to build capacity in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, improve emergency preparedness, preserve species and habitat, and raise community awareness, prioritising new applicants, co-contributions, partnerships (especially with First Nations people) and geographic equity. Through strategic on-ground activities, citizen science, education initiatives and collaborative partnerships, this program aims to strengthen sector expertise and foster innovation in wildlife conservation.
