Grant Description
The Pathways Program is South West Indigenous Network’s (SWIN) leading initiative aimed at empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people (18 years and under) to participate in representative sport. Backed by the National Indigenous Australians Agency’s Safety and Wellbeing Program, the grant helps offset travel and participation costs for state and regional competitions endorsed by Queensland School Sport or state/national sporting bodies. Since inception, the program has funded nearly 300 youth and distributed over $700,000 in support, improving Indigenous representation in sport, promoting wellbeing, and fostering community pride. The program is managed by SWIN, a not-for-profit focused on increasing health and recreation opportunities in South West Queensland.
