Grant Description
The Critical Minerals and High-Tech Metals Exploration Program aims to enhance the sustainability of the NSW resources sector by supporting exploration activities that target underexplored areas and critical mineral deposits aligned with the NSW Critical Minerals and High-Tech Metals Strategy 2024–35. The program offers a total funding pool of $2.5 million (GST exclusive), with individual grants ranging from $5,000 to $250,000 per project and a maximum of $370,000 per applicant. Funding is distributed across three project types: exploration geochemistry ($350,000 total, with $5,000–$50,000 per project), exploration geophysics ($500,000 total, with $20,000–$70,000 per project), and exploration drilling ($1,650,000 total, with $50,000–$150,000 for drilling up to 250 metres and up to $250,000 for drilling beyond 250 metres). A minimum 50% co-contribution is required. The program is open to entities holding a relevant mining title under the Mining Act 1992 and aims to stimulate discovery, strengthen industry-government collaboration, and position NSW as a leader in critical minerals and high-tech metals.
